The Hotel Experience of Mr. Pink Fluker

by Richard Malcolm Johnston

Recommended Adaptation Length: 10 Minutes, 15 Minutes, 30 Minutes

Candidate for Adaptation? Promising

EXCERPT:

Prominent among his achievements was getting married to a woman who, among other excellent gifts, had that of being twice as big as her husband.

COMMENTS:

The characters and dialogue are colorful and lively, but the plot’s fairly thin.   The main premise is promising:  a farm family who moves into town to run a hotel, while dealing with a deputy politician whose arrogant interference causes trouble for the daughter’s potential romance.  The deputy is the heavy in the piece, but you’d probably have to invent some livelier conflict to get much more than a half-hour piece out of this.  Still, the language is worth visiting, and might engender some quirky lyrics.
